    And the crowd ROARS!!

    HUGE APPLAUSE!!!!

I KNOW this is NOT by the rules to do this--but I just HAD to say
    EXCELLENT POST!

As to the guy with an idea to change the restaurant biz to suit his ideas on
    paying wait staff employees???

Nice plan--but not reality on this planet--LOL nor probably anywhere in this
dimension of space and time. Salaries are what they are--meal charges handled
the the way they are--and not liking it won't change anything.

You can't have it all -- ever -- unless you're prepared to pay for it--at
what it costs--if you're not paying for it one way then you'll simply be charged
    another.

Something tells me if you meal costs went up to cover the additional payroll
expense to pay all wait staff minimum wage you wouldn't like that too much
either. Nor get better service. If you don't see this then try to get your
table waited at any McDonalds and you'll see what I mean!

Commission salary works--it motivates people to try to do what they must to
earn more. Always has worked best--except when folks don't get it and try to
    buck the system.

#$%#$ Rats! I SWORE I was done with this subject.

I KNOW it's a religion to some folks to defend VEHEMENTLY their meager (or
nonexistent) tipping--even while in an impoverished third world country. To
them it's theft of THEIR money to pay salaries of someone else's employees.

While others will just continue to think those who don't tip properly are
cheap and just making excuses--or at best raised by wolves and not taught how to
behave appropriately when it comes to tipping.

That's the arguement. Period. And it's NEVER going to be settled.

Neither side will give an inch--both are FIRMLY convinced they are right. So
there's no point discussing it again, right?

And we REALLY have done this subject to death here on this list about 100
    times.

So this time I hope I did NOT open the door to it again.

Funny thing is, we don't employ wait staff here--so this really has nothing
to do with us professionally--just personally.
