Good point. My daughter faced a situation last summer. Even tho her son's
father gave his permission for a passport to be obtained, she almost did not
make the cruise because she did not have a separate letter giving permission
to take my grandson out of the country for that trip. The cruise ship flatly
denied us getting on and it took about an hour for paperwork they would
accept to be faxed to them. If you are taking someone other than your children
take a letter of permission along with the passport. You will also need a
letter for your children if your husband does not accompany you on the trip.
They are sticklers on that. There seems to be no appeal, either.
