To anyone considering a move to Roatan,
I second Steve's assessment of Pierre's house. We also recently spent a most delightful day with Pierre and were mesmerized by the views from this lovely island home. It seems you are surrounded by sea and sky. It is an incredible place! You won't find a more prefect place to enjoy your freshly brewed morning coffee as you sit there and watch the sun rise out of the sea. This house is perfect for the person(s) looking for a quiet place to settle on Roatan. It would also be a great place for a nice Bed & Breakfast. And now that the roads are paved, you're a quick drive from West End, West Bay and Coxen Hole. If you are considering a move to Roatan, I would urge you to take a look at this very fine property.
P.S. And if you're interested in the mystique of the island's ironshore, I highly recommend picking up a copy of Pierre Renaldo's novel "Ironshore." I'm sure you won't be disappointed. While your at it, you might also want to check out his "Red Dog Chronicles" or any of his construction related books.
Regards, Sue

>>>Many of you know Pierre from his monthly Roatan Insights or his Coastwatchers, often focusing on construction or island life. He is still actively pursuing the sale of his home and business on Roatan to be with his ill wife in the US. Recently, he added even more flexibility to the financing of the home. If you are in the market, have a look at http://www.roatanet.com/pierre/home/ or you can read his novel set in that very home and location at http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0759684871/
AOLer's can click here for the home or click here for the novel.
As a side note, I spent several incredible afternoons at Pierre's while on Roatan, and not just because he is a master chef. When you are sitting in his dining area, it's as if you are on a ship, with only sea and sky visible.
