hi herb,
I was asked by one of the manager's of the galaxy to share this info with you. Both there new terminal here in roatan and remodeled one in la ceiba will have metal detectors and screen-carry on baggage, they had previously requested these things from the government since they operate a transporation vessel, but the government refuse to do so, they will be purchasing security equipment themselves and as for now they have complied and will continue to do so, with any request given to them by both immigration and the port captain; they're are also the only means of transportation at which the police do random searches of both passengers and vessel and they work very closely with them to aid in security measure in any way they can. they also, wanted you to know that they have traveled on several ferries within the U.S. and not ONCE they were screened, searched, or even asked the purpose of there trip; shouldn't the U.S. be doing the same? thank you.

Checking I.D.'s is a waste of time unless they have access to files of
criminal activity on computer.
They need body and bag searches on the Galaxy. You are not going to stop
crime but you will stop some of the gun traffic.
Take Care,
Herb Morici
