    Dave

Living in communes , excessive dope use , ..lifestyle are not what I have
read in the papers ,Its what Ive seen.Right here on Roatan. When youre back
down here again let me show you around.
You could also ask the policemen who arrested el chino and his crew in Los
Fuertes how they lived , closed up inside the house for days on end with a
dope smoke trail seen for miles coming out of the top. 5 guys and 3 girls
just coming out to do as altos when they needed cash.

    Matt,

Some of your information about Mara Salvatrucha is not completely
correct. I'll try to complete the picture:

MS members were originally from El Salvador, as you mentioned, but
the gang developed in the Los Angeles area as Salvadoran immigrants
sought to defend themselves against rival Mexican gangs. MS began
to become a problem in Central America after US immigration
authorities deported MS-involved criminals from the US during the
1990s. Currently, the US continues a deportation policy for
dangerous criminals, thus exacerbating an already serious problem
    with international gangs.

MS is heavily involved in trafficking crack cocaine (which has
recently become a very serious problem in the Bay Islands), human
    trafficking, and stolen car rings.

Your comments about excessive drug use, lascivious lifestyles,
living in communes, etc., are not necessarily factual and should
probably be chalked up to the yellowish tint to Honduran
journalism. Although there is some veracity to those claims,
hyperbole should not be disseminated as the truth.

    -David
