I can only surmise what you mean by "the terrible events recently." An resident American was recently killed in a robbery attempt The people responsible were apprehended and are in jail. There have been other burglaries as well. Here's the trite part: I don't know of anyplace in the world that is crime free. If you do, please let me know. Some places have fewer incidents than others. Roatan is relatively safe. Other places are much worse. What's it like in your home town? Has there ever been a problem? Have you ever been here? You say you buy property. I think I would come and stay a while and check it out. I think you will survive the trip and probably have a great time. But if you will, please, please, tell me the names of "other places down south that went under because of the same issues." I'd be very interested to know the places and the issues to which you are referring.
