Jim,
Its a good idea but someone is doing it already. check out www.myus.com they offer these services. If your better, cheaper or have better marketing maybe you can cut out your piece of the pie.

I am a small business owner in Atlanta, GA that would like to get
feedback from ex-pat's living in more remote locations outside the U.S
and Canada (such as Roatan). My idea is to provide a "concierge"
shopping and shipping service for those special items that are not
readily available to you. I would shop, consolidate and ship from any
and all retail stores, sporting good stores, food stores....yes, even
Krispy Kreme if you wish! You name it, I will find it and get it to
you!
I know you are probably ordering via the internet, but are there some
comfort items not available to you? Is someone already providing this
service? I also work for an airline and will be visiting Roatan in
the next few months. Please provide me with your honest feedback.
Thank you.
