Just one more comment/opinion to add to the issue.

WOW!! Great job and cudos to all who stopped this
project. My husband and I also came to Roatan for it's
undeveloped and pristine enviroment and as many, are
saddened buy it's destruction by these money grabbing
carpetbaggers. Developement and progress is one
thing, but raping the island and all of it's natural
ressources is another. These "developers" are able to
do as they please, all in the name of progress,
without any regard to what it is doing to the
islands's natural resources, by lining the right
pockets. The water, sewage/garbage and most of all,
the electric supply, cannot keep up with the thousands
of homes and apartments that are being constructed. In
a very few years, water is going to be the most
precious commodity on the island. It's a little
crude, but also true, that my husband always says
"where is all the s__t going to go?" Good question,
    into our beautiful water?

As for the petition being torn off the wall in the
Sundowner, isn't this destruction of private property?

I totally agree with the person who wrote about
informing the parent real estate company, Remax, of
    these dealings.

It's just a shame that the associations of West Bay
were either not formed, or did not have enough clout
at the time, to prevent the another famous
carpetbagger from ruining West Bay beach with he
monstosity of a condominium that was constructed,
encroaching on the legal setbacks mandated by Honduran
law to protect the beach. The entire front half of
this building needs to be ripped off. It in no way
blends into the natural ambience of the beach and
sticks out like a sore thumb.

I guess it all comes down to the money issue. He who
has enough, gets what he wants.

Sorry about the rambling and I could go on and on, but
this type of developement and "prgress" totally and
unequivocably infuriates me! Is there no where in the
world that those of us who are seeking just a little
slice of paradise can go? My only hope is that once
the American economy implodes, which it is going to do
in the not too distant future, the curtailment of the
money supply will bring the raping of the island to a
    screeching halt.
