Hi Angie,
I saw your note below to Connie. I have a villa available for rent long
term in Sandy Bay, which is about a ten minute cab ride to West Bay.
The cab fare is approximately 15 lempiras as I recall, which is really
inexpensive. If you'd like more details, you may call 340-2000 or
949-7838.

Hi Connie -
Thank you so much! I feel so much better knowing that I have
everything necessary to bring her with me.
I wanted to ask you also if you know of anyone that rent apartments
in West Bay Beach area for long-term renters? I have booked a room to
stay until end of Novemeber, but will be looking to find something
long-term starting in December. I'll be working in West Bay and need
something in walking distance b/c I will not have a car for at least a
few months. If you know of anyone, could you please let me know? Thank
you so much for your time. I truly appreciate it!
Sincerely,
Angie

Hi Angie!
Sounds like you're all set. Only the health exam/certificate needs to
be done within ten days of the flight, not the rabies certificate date.
You will find the Agricultural and Animal people at the airport in
Roatan, who will give you papers for you to take with your dog to Dr.
Gostas Calderon the Wednesday after you arrive. They will give you the
directions and the amount you will have to pay that day. You pay
nothing when you arrive at the airport.
Have a safe trip.

Hi! I'm coming straight into Roatan and my dog is only 10 pounds, so
she will be in-cabin with me. The only things I can find online or
through the airline is that I need a health certificate and rabies
vaccine certificate dated within 10 days of flights. I also read that a
local vet will check her out when I get to Roatan. I'm just wanting to
make sure I have all my bases covered because she is already terrified
of flying and any stress I can eliminate beforehand would be wonderful.
Thanks for your time!
Angie

I have heard of Dr . S. Soto and wonder if he is licensed to do "
importing dog certificates " ? If he can, does he have an e-mail address
that I can use in order to make arrangements to bring my chocolate lab
Tulum? On the other hand, if this is not possible could you recommend
another veterinarian with e-mail address who can? Gracias
