Hats off to Garry and his crew. What they accomplished on 50 lb test line i=
s remarkable. It is a shame the fish could not have been saved but in all t=
ournaments whether in Miami, Baja, California or Hawaii, fish are=A0killed =
due to the tremendous stress put on the fish during the fight. Another thou=
ght, was the weight of this fish certified and his line capacity confirmed?=
If so he could submit this as a world record for 50 lb line. This would no=
t only bring attention to Garry ( who is a close friend of mine) but also t=
o the great fishing available in Roatan. Congratulations Garry and tight li=
    nes.

this year there where more release than other years because the fish had to=
be more than 88 inches long at this length the fish is over 200 pounds. no=
w we hate to see this but the fishing tournament is changing yearly and the=
re has been changes in rules the white marlins , dolphins and other were ta=
ken of the list this year and if any came in they would have been penalized=
and banned from the fishing tournament.

who would believe that you caught a 700 pound marlin with a 50 pound test f=
ishing line well it happened this weekend and what more evidence than havin=
g it there. the last record was held for over 15 years by the mcnab family =
with a 480 pound marlin now there is a new record and its garry mclaughlin =
and his crew that will for sure hold the record of the biggest marlin for a=
    long time .

Call me sentimental, but seeing that beautiful huge fish hanging there
hurt---sure wish Bay Islands did catch and release.
